The Children of God Tapes - AN ABHORRENT ARCHIVE ORIGINAL EXCLUSIVE RELEASE

$25.00

THIS IS AN ABHORRENT ARCHIVE ORIGINAL EXCLUSIVE RELEASE!

The Family International (TFI) is an American new religious movement founded in 1968 by David Brandt Berg. The group has gone under a number of different names since its inception, including Teens for Christ, The Children of God (COG), The Family of Love, or simply The Family.

A British court case found the group was an authoritarian cult which engaged in the systematic physical and sexual abuse of children, resulting in lasting trauma among survivors. The group has also been accused of targeting vulnerable people.

The cult infamously produced a children's program called "Life with Grandpa", used as propaganda to promote the cults beliefs and ideology.

Ricky Rodriguez (born David Moses Zerby) was the son of David Berg, the leader of a religious cult the Children of God (COG). As an adult, Rodriguez realized that he was exploited and sexually abused by his family and other cult leaders. Leading to Rodriguez deciding to seek revenge on the cult and his family. Rodriguez infamously filmed himself planning to attack and kill his abusers. Ultimately murdering one of his childhood sexual abusers, Angela M. Smith, and then died by suicide.

This set includes:
Episode 1: Meet Grandpa and the puppet family; upbeat songs frame strict obedience/morality lessons.
Episode 2: Discipline and “good behavior” taught through skits with jarringly chipper tone.
Episode 3: Virtue tales and call-and-response songs that mirror internal COG teaching tools.
Episode 4: The most disquieting entry; bright surfaces, unmistakably cult messaging underneath.
Format & quality: Lo-fi, sourced from vintage VHS materials. Expect tape hiss, color bleed, occasional tracking lines—authentic to the originals and integral to the archival value.
